Thoughts

Asha Jefferies is an Australian indie-folk artist who’s music brings a reflective clarity to even the most complex of topics and emotions. Crybaby, is a single from Asha’s EP titled The Pinnacle. The song and artwork is inspired by the death and rebirth of a relationship. Working closely with Asha we created cover art and an accompanying tour poster that referenced the journey of accepting faults and the ability to start again with a revitalised sense of re-birth.

Kate Miller-Heidke is a world renowned Australian singer-songwriter who effortlessly traverses the worlds of contemporary pop, folk, musical theatre and opera. You Can’t Hurt Me Anymore (ft. Jaguar Jonze) is from the Deluxe Edition of her Top 10 ARIA Album ‘Child In Reverse’.

A deeply personal song of survival and catharsis that dances on the grave of an abuser. Kate invited artist Jaguar Jonze who’s experiences, insight and advocacy had originally inspired Kate to write the song to collaborate on the track.  Working with Joshua Tate the music video’s director I created title artwork for this powerful track that hero’s Signifier from the type foundry Klim Co. This Brutalist response to 17th century typefaces embodied the strength we needed to convey as well as complementing the video’s bold aesthetic.

Shado is a collective and an online and print publication amplifying the voices of those at the front-line of political, social and cultural change.

The design accompanies an article by Grace Desoe titled ‘Reframing Rights in the Climate Crisis’. This artwork combines hand-sketched type with digital art to create a unique set of graphics that emphasise key messages from the text. The roughly sketched text is indicative of a work in progress while the fluid shapes convey movement and connectivity.
